Angela Evelyn Bassett is an American actress. Since the mid 80s Angela Evelyn has appeared in television and film. She's received many awards, including the 16 NAACP Image Awards. Bassett is a native of Winston-Salem, North Carolina. She was brought up in Winston-Salem North Carolina by her aunt, who was born in New York New York, is a well-known actress. Bassett was able to move with her younger sister to St. Petersburg Florida at five years old so that they could be near their mom as she was divorced from her father. Bassett was a fan of James Earl Jones in John Steinbeck's Of Mice and Men play while she was still in highschool and realized that she was an actor and wanted to do. In the year 1980, Bassett completed her studies at Yale University New Haven Connecticut with an undergraduate degree in African American studies. She also received a degree from The Yale School of Drama. While at Yale she met Courtney B. Vance a actress who was a friend of hers. They married in 1997. Qualification: B.A. the Yale School of Drama granted an M.A. in Fine Arts in African American Studies to Angela Basssett in the year 1980. The school she attended was the school following: Jordan Park elementary school, Disston Middle School for seventh graders, Azalea Middle School for 8th and 9th grades and Boca Ciega High School.
