Antonietta Collins

Antonietta Toni Gonzalez Collins is an Mexican American journalist. She is currently a sportscaster for ESPN and is an anchor of SportsCenter news, as well as host of SportsNation. The first time she worked for ESPN in 2016. She is the daughter of the journalist on television Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta Collins was a bilingual since the age nine years old a useful talent that enabled her to get her first job as a production assistant at Univision in Miami that gave her the chance to collaborate with producers of national programs including Nuestra Belleza Latina, Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud and Primer Impacto. Antonietta Collins' grandparents were originally from Veracruz Mexico. They moved into Mexico City, where Antonietta Collins was born in November 1985. She also has a sister. The family moved to Miami in 1992 following the departure from Mexico. Their divorce was soon followed in 1995. Her mother was remarried to one of the naval architects named Fabio Fajardo who passed away from kidney cancer in 2006. At the end of June 2006, she visited one week with her sibling in Canton Ohio. The older Collins girl was employed there. A senior in high school but with a clear idea what she would like to accomplish in her future, Antonietta was able to visit The University of Mount Union to assess if it suited her preferences. She discovered that she liked the campus, and the university offered an academic program that she liked. She finished school and enrolled at the University to study media studies. Mark Bergmann was her professor and was also the director of WRMU, of which she is a member. They had a very close connection. Professor Mark Bergmann influenced her by his passion about journalism. Also, he deeply affected her.
